About Us Brave Nation is an internet radio (soon to be FM) station of the St Labre Indian School. Named after the St Labre Indian School mascot, the Brave Nation broadcasts from the St Labre School Campus on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Montana.
With a broad range of listeners, and easy to navigate web pages, the Brave Nation is one of the premier broadcast internet K-12 school radio station in Montanas “Indian Country”. The Brave Nation is a service to our schools; St Labre, Pretty Eagle, and St Charles and their local communities and to our friendly donors who share an interest in values, Native American Traditions, and giving. As a Native American Variety listening station, you can view our Broadcast Schedule to know what time block we provide for specific flavors of music, arts, or events. Just remember, the schedule is subject to change at any time due to Spiritual, Cultural, Educational or Extra Curricular events.
The Brave Nation is an educational, spiritual, and non-commercial, public radio station serving the St Labre Indian Schools, Ashland and surrounding communities through (soon to be FM frequency and) the world-wide web. The Brave Nation was officially established in February 2009 and licensed through the St Labre Indian School. The Brave Nation serves the educational, spiritual, informational and cultural needs including Native American and non-Native American peoples, both within “Indian Country”, nearby communities, and our wide range of listeners on the internet. The Brave Nation is located within the administration building on the St Labre campus.
The Brave Nation serves four purposes: 1. To bring a non-profit Native American Variety Listening Station to interested listeners. 2. To provide the Emergency Broadcast System alerting system to service this region beset by climate extremes as other possible emergencies. 3. To promote the educational and spiritual mission of the St Labre Indian School. 4. To increase the social and economic well being of the St Labre Indian School by facilitating interaction between Indian and non-Indian communities.
The Brave Nation currently operates streaming broadcasts serving a listen link of 40 listeners. The Brave Nation will soon be operating a Low Power FM Transmission serving people within a 20 mile radius. Whether it be listening to a variety of music, songs of praise, Native American Lifestyles, or local extra curricular activities, the Brave Nation serves as your ideal K-12 School Broadcast Station.
The intent of the Brave Nation is to be inclusive, serving all listeners to create a cohesion among our listeners of different backgrounds. The Brave Nation will provide programming that fulfills the cultural, educational, spiritual and entertainment needs of the our listeners. The Brave Nation is an extended service of the St Labre Indian School. |
